Following County Protocol, Office will Remain Open on Friday, September 8
Late Fees and Fines will be Waived for Tag Renewals, Driver Licenses, Duplicate or Replacement Licenses and Documents
September 7, 2017 – ORLANDO, FL – In anticipation of Hurricane Irma’s forecasted impact on Central Florida, Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph today announced that the Orange County Tax Collector’s Office, including all seven Tag Agencies and the Tax Department, will be closed on Monday, September 11. Following Orange County’s protocol, the Office is planning to remain open for the entirety of the business day on Friday, September 8. The Office is expected to reopen to the public on Tuesday, September 12.
“For the safety of our customers and employees, especially those with children home from school, our offices will be closed on Monday,” Tax Collector Scott Randolph said. “We urge everyone to heed the Governor’s warning, take all the necessary precautions to protect your loved ones and your home, and prepare for this potentially devastating storm.”
Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order 17-235, all additional motor vehicle fees and fines imposed by state law will be waived for the late renewal of or application for driver licenses, State IDs, vehicle and vessel registration, tags, titles and license plates which may be delayed due to the effects of Hurricane Irma. Additional fees will also be waived for duplicate or replacement licenses, certificates and documents.
Customers with Monday Appointments
Customers who scheduled motor vehicle appointments for Monday, September 11 will be contacted by email with instructions on how to reschedule their appointment. If a customer needs to cancel their appointment at any time, they can do so by texting “C” to (317) 225-4470 from the phone number used to schedule their appointment. All customers are encouraged to complete their transactions online, when possible.
