In anticipation of Hurricane Matthew’s forecasted impact on Central Florida, Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph today announced that the Orange County Tax Collector’s Office, including all seven tag agencies and the Property and Business Tax departments, will be closed on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7. Friday’s previously scheduled office-wide blood drive with OneBlood will be rescheduled (date to be announced). The Office is expected to reopen to the public on Monday, October 10.
“For the safety of our customers and employees, especially those with children home from school, our offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday,” Tax Collector Scott Randolph said. “We urge everyone to heed the Governor’s warning, take all the necessary precautions to protect your loved ones and your home, and prepare for this potentially devastating storm.”
Pursuit to the Governor’s Executive Order 16-230, all additional motor vehicle fees and fines imposed by law will be waived for the late renewal of or application for driver licenses, State IDs, tags, titles and license plates which were delayed due to the effects of adverse weather conditions. Additional fees will also be waived for duplicate or replacement licenses, certificates and documents.
Customers who scheduled motor vehicle appointments for Thursday or Friday will be contacted by email or phone with instructions on how to reschedule their appointment. Customers are encouraged to complete their transactions online, when possible.
