Scott Randolph and John Mica honor Veterans with Flag Raising ceremony

Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph and Congressman John Mica were in Northwest Orange County on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate a new U.S. Flag rising over the Tax Collector Clarcona office and to retire the current flag.

“It’s an honor to retire the current U.S. flag alongside Congressman Mica.” said Randolph “This partnership will ensure we never forget the price paid for our freedom on a daily basis.”

The flag was received through the Congressman’s office at no cost and was raised by U.S. Veterans employed by the Tax Collector’s office. George Woody, from the Operations department (Army) and Ronald Davis, Manager of Support Services (Navy) stood alongside the pair of elected officials during the ceremony.

“If it weren’t for the Veterans we wouldn’t be flying this flag over our free country” said Mica “We can’t thank them enough for their service. This is a happy day and a happy occasion.”
